The O'Donnell Middle School winter sports teams will be taking over the Stoughton High gym on Wednesday, January 31! There is a wrestling meet at 4pm, girls basketball game (featuring a halftime performance by the OMS dance team) at 5:30pm, and boys basketball game at 6:30pm. Come and support our OMS students and the future of Stoughton athletics!

Our MIAA Student Ambassadors, SHS seniors Jarred Daughtry, Morgan Groppi, and Bunmi Fabikun, pictured left to right, attended the 29th Annual MIAA Sportsmanship Summit, held November 9, 2023 at Gillette Stadium.
Congratulations to Stoughton High senior Morgan Groppi for signing her letter of intent to play lacrosse at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire! Morgan served as a captain of the SHS girls lacrosse team last spring, earning team MVP and Hockomock League honorable mention recognition. She is also an accomplished field hockey player at SHS, serving as a captain of the team this fall season.
The Patriot Ledger recognized Stoughton High junior Devon Rossi Benson, a lineman on the SHS football team, as one of 40 "unsung heroes" on high school football teams across the South Shore this season. Devon, wearing his 76 jersey, is pictured here. From the Patriot Ledger: [Devon] has made an impact for the Black Knights on both sides of the ball. Coach Christopher Evans said he consistently faces double-teams, and even an occasional triple-team, in the trenches. "He goes hard, never makes an excuse and shows up ready to work," Evans said. "We've had to make some adjustments up front on the offensive line and he does whatever is asked of him."

We had a photo shoot with our SHS fall sports captains and here they are sporting their new captain's jackets. Looking sharp!
Tagh Swierzewski, Stoughton High Class of 2023, represented SHS at the 45th Shriners All-Star Football Classic at Bentley University in Waltham. Tagh was a captain of the SHS football team this past fall, earning Hockomock League All-Star honors. He recorded an interception on defense in the Shriners game, which features some of the top high school football seniors in the state. (Photo on the left is from Noontime Media)

And congrats to Simarah McPherson (pictured top right) for competing in shot put and Matt Singletary (pictured bottom right) for competing in the long jump and high jump at the New Balance Nationals!
We want to take a moment to recognize the Hockomock League All-Stars from the spring sports season at Stoughton High. Congratulations to these student-athletes for being honored as one of the top performers in the entire league in their respective sports!
Stoughton High seniors Katherine Giroux (pictured left) and Simarah McPherson (right) recently represented SHS at the MIAA Girls and Women in Sports Day held at Faneuil Hall in Boston! This event is held annually to celebrate the many opportunities girls and women have to compete in sports throughout Massachusetts and across the country. Katherine participates in field hockey and indoor/outdoor track & field and Simarah participates in cheerleading and indoor/outdoor track & field. Both are captains on the outdoor track & field team this spring.
Congratulations to the SHS boys track & field team for winning the MSTCA Division 3 Relay Meet! SHS came in first overall at the meet, winning the high jump, long jump, and shuttle hurdles events, coming in second in the 4x100, and placing sixth in the 4x200 and javelin.
