Registration for Next School Year (2024-2025)
Attention families with students entering preschool or kindergarten in September, or with a student entering grades 1-12 who did not attend the Stoughton Public Schools this school year: The Stoughton Public Schools online pre-registration portal for next school year (2024-2025 school year) opened today. Please visit our Central Registration Office website for more information about the pre-registration process.
Spring Author Series
The Stoughton Public Schools annual Spring Author Series is back! The first event is TONIGHT, Monday, April 1 from 5-6pm at the Dawe School featuring author/illustrator Jannie Ho. Next Monday, April 8 features a visit from Mia Wenjen from 5-6pm at the Hansen School. Students from all of our elementary schools are invited to attend these engaging and fun author presentations. Election Day on Tuesday
Stoughton's annual town election is Tuesday, April 2. Polls are open from 7am-8pm. Schools will be open and students still have classes. Where many of our schools are polling locations, please keep in mind that voters may not be aware of the drop off and pick up procedures at each school.
Virtual Office Hour with Dr. Baeta Canceled This Wednesday
Due to a Finance Committee meeting taking place at the same time, Dr. Baeta's virtual office hour scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, April 3 will be canceled. Additional virtual office hour dates and times can be found here.
ELPAC Meeting
There will be an ELPAC meeting this Wednesday, April 3, at 6pm at Stoughton High School featuring a presentation from Mariana Dultra, MIRA (Massachusetts Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy Coalition). The agenda will include information on the Tuition Equity Act, a new Massachusetts Law that expands higher education opportunities for noncitizen students who have attended high school in the Commonwealth for at least three years and have earned a diploma or its equivalent (such as a GED/HiSet) in Massachusetts.
Early Release Day on Thursday
This Thursday, April 4 is an early release day for the Stoughton Public Schools.
Here are the school hours for early release days:
• SHS & OMS - 7:35am - 11:32am
• Elementary Schools - 8:30am - 12:20pm
• Preschool - 8:30am - 11:00am (No afternoon preschool session)
Lunch will still be served.
OMS Knight of Excellence
The O'Donnell Middle School is holding a Knight of Excellence this Thursday, April 4 from 6:30-8pm at the OMS. This event is an open house where the OMS displays student work throughout the school. Come see the different projects students have been working on this year, join a drum circle in music class, view the art gallery in the learning commons, and check out a performance by our OMS dance team.
Spring Concerts
We are looking forward to the spring concerts that will be taking place over the next couple of months at the elementary level, as well as for middle school and high school. The Gibbons School has a spring concert for second grade this Friday, April 5. See the Gibbons weekly update message for more information.
Register for SPS Knights of Summer Program
We are able to offer the Knights of Summer camp this summer for SPS students entering grades 2-5. This popular enrichment program will be free of charge. Click here for more information and to register.
