We are pleased to announce that Ms. Katrina Crowley has been appointed the next Principal of the Dr. Robert G. O’Donnell Middle School. Ms. Crowley, current Assistant Principal at the OMS, will become Principal starting July 1, 2023. A respected and established leader at OMS, she will help provide a seamless transition for students, staff, and families when current OMS Principal Matt Colantonio joins the team at the SPS District Office as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources & Health after this school year concludes.
“I look forward to stepping into this new role as Principal. I love working with the students, families, and staff at OMS and being a member of the OMS community,” Ms. Crowley said. “I am excited continue the work Mr. Colantonio and I have been doing at OMS to make our school a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for all students.”
Ms. Crowley joined the OMS staff in 2017 as a 7th grade math teacher, and has served as Assistant Principal for the last three school years. As Assistant Principal she has supported Mr. Colantonio in reaching School Improvement Plan goals through assisting with day to day operations, staff development, student support, and family communication. Ms. Crowley also effectively collaborates with District leadership and community partners. Her work implementing Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiatives has made a positive impact at OMS.
Prior to her time at OMS, Ms. Crowley was a 7th grade math teacher at Atlantis Charter School in Fall River. Ms. Crowley has also worked with Teach for America, and as a Teach for America alumna, she was appointed to coach first and second year teachers supporting their professional development.
