Kindergarteners in Room 129 at the Hansen School read Scissors and Needle, a story about a clever witch who gets creative with a pair of scissors and a magical needle and thread, using cut-out shapes to create everything she needs for a comfortable life. Inspired by the book, students made a class quilt, the patchwork design made up of individual panels each student created.

Hansen School students made cards for veterans, decorating the front of the card and writing a message inside expressing gratitude for their service. These cards were given to the Stoughton Redevelopment Authority to display for the Veterans Day parade on November 11. The Redevelopment Authority office is located across from the Town Hall, which is on the parade route. First grade students are pictured here with some of the cards that were made.

The Stoughton Public Schools 2nd Annual Spring Author Series kicked off with a great crowd gathering at the Hansen School to hear from children's author Susan Tan. Students received a free copy of one of Susan's books and she signed some copies for students after the event! SPS elementary students (and their families) from all of our elementary schools are invited to attend these author events.
